A health system in Illinois faced inadequate OR staffing due to challenges with its outsourced anesthesia group. With only 70% of the ORs staffed, the health system encountered backlogged cases and had to redirect patients to other hospitals. To maintain optimal staffing levels across the OR, the health system enlisted help from the Medicus Transition Program to bring its anesthesia service line employed.
