More Than a Wish: Creating Lasting Impact with Make-A-Wish New Hampshire
Rooted in a shared dedication to making a difference in the lives of others, Medicus is proud to introduce our corporate philanthropy partnership with Make-A-Wish New Hampshire. Their mission to bring hope, strength, and joy to children facing critical illnesses is one that deeply resonates with who we are and the values that guide us.
"At Medicus, we're fortunate to work in an industry centered on helping people, and that extends beyond healthcare," said Bob Dickey, Medicus CEO. “Our partnership with Make-A-Wish is special, and we're proud to support the incredible work they do in our community.”
Now in its second year, our partnership with Make-A-Wish to help grant wishes in our community reflects the people-first mindset at the heart of everything we do. Having seen firsthand the profound impact a wish can make for children and their families, we're committed to helping create life-changing moments.
Making Dreams a Reality
One of those life-changing moments happened last summer when Mason, a child in our community battling leukemia, wished for a swimming pool. Medicus worked alongside Make-A-Wish to help bring that dream to life, and the pool quickly became a place where Mason could set aside the stress of his diagnosis and simply enjoy being a kid. Nearly a year later, Mason is now cancer-free and enjoying his second summer creating new memories with family and friends in the very pool he dreamed of.
Seeing the joy Mason’s pool brought to his family inspired Medicus to help create another meaningful experience for a child in our community. That led us to Stanley, a young boy currently facing leukemia whose wish is to visit the Florida theme parks. For Stanley and his family, the trip will offer a much-needed respite from treatments, appointments, and hospital visits, and the chance to focus instead on making happy memories together.
To kick off our wish-granting journey for Stanley, Medicus served as a Hope, Strength, and Joy Sponsor of Make-A-Wish’s annual Breakfast for Wishes event in May. Members of our team spent the morning connecting with wish recipients, their families, and fellow community partners while learning more about the foundation’s impact across New Hampshire. The event reinforced why Medicus is proud to help Make-A-Wish create moments of joy, relief, and connection for children and families when they need it most.

A Wish That Shaped a Lifetime
The impact of a wish often extends far beyond the experience itself. For Medicus team member Kaitlyn Koza, that lasting impact has shaped much of her life. At seven years old, Kaitlyn’s wish to meet the princesses was granted, and the trip was a welcome escape from the hospital visits, medical appointments, and waiting rooms that had become a significant part of life following her cerebral palsy diagnosis.
Fourteen years later, the impact of that experience continues to shape her life. Kaitlyn regularly volunteers at fundraising events and serves as an official ambassador. In 2025, she received Make-A-Wish’s Spotlight Award in recognition of her continued support and advocacy.
“It’s become such a pillar of who I am,” Kaitlyn Koza, Contracts Coordinator, said. “I don’t know who I would be without Make-a-Wish.”

Continuing a Mission of Hope and Joy
Together, Mason’s, Stanley’s, and Kaitlyn’s stories show how a wish can create joy in the moment and leave an impact that continues for years. Medicus is honored to partner with Make-A-Wish in helping bring these experiences to life, and we look forward to continuing our shared commitment to making a meaningful difference throughout our community.
“A wish is so much more than just a trip or experience,” said Kaitlyn. “The power of a wish provides those facing unimaginable challenges with a sense of hope, excitement, and joy in the darkest times.”
